Adwoa Safo, Mrs. Akufo-Addo storm Dome | Politics


Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo, the wife of NPP flagbearer and Adwoa Safo, Parliamentary candidate for Dome Kwabenya constituency will Wednesday 17th October, 2012 storm the Dome market, to take the NPP’s message of hope to the traders.

The presence of the wannabe First Lady will add to the chances of Adwoa Safo, who is also aspiring to take over the mantle from outgoing MP Prof. Mike Aaron Oquaye, who stepped down after representing the constituencies for two consecutive terms.

Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo is expected to deliver some policy interventions an Akufo Addo government will bring to market women who ply their trades at the various market centres. Read more…

We know the winner of this year’s election- Bishop Salifu Amoako | Politics


The President of the National Prophetic and Apostolic Churches Council of Ghana, Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako says they are already aware of the winner of the this year’s presidential elections even before they are conducted on December 7th.

The General Overseer of Alive Chapel International claimed the group had written to inform the supposed winner of the December polls.

He said the group had decided not to go public on the issue due to security issues.

Bishop Salifu Amoako chided fellow ministers of the Gospel whom he alleged, had gone about mentioning the name of the supposed winner of yet-to-conducted elections, warning them not to create confusion in the country. Read more…

International Evangelist asks Ghanaians to intensify prayers for peaceful elections | VibeGhana.com


Dr Lawrence Tetteh, Ghanaian International Evangelist, at the weekend asked the citizenry to be steadfast in their prayers for peace and stability as the country approaches the December 7 General Elections.

He said the political leaders should look up to God for their intended enthronement as “promotion always comes from God”.

“No political agenda, manifestoes or slogans can ensure the victory of any political party but only God,” he stressed.

Dr Tetteh, who is also the President and Founder of World Miracle Outreach, was speaking to Ghana News Agency in Accra to announce “Ghana for Christ Crusade”, which his mission is organising at the Ho Jubilee Park in the Volta Region, from October 10- October 12. Read more…

The National Executive of the National Democratic Party (NDP) has followed with keen interest the political discourse in the past few days and wishes to reassure its members and sympathizers of our total commitment to the noble goals and objectives of the party.

GBC News: Calm returns to Ghana-Cote d’Ivoire border at Elubo


The situation at the Ghana-Cote d’ivoire border at Elubo in the Western region is calm following Friday’s shoot out between Ivorian border security and rebels at the Cote d’Ivoire side of the border, Noe.

Correspondent George Grant Yankson who is at the border says that media reports that five Ghanaian taxi drivers died in the incident are false.

He says the Chef Collector of Customs at the border who is also the 2nd in Command Samuel Boamah said nothing of the sort happened.

BURKINA FASO PROVIDES A VALUABLE LESSON FOR BOOSTING AGRICULTURE IN THE NORTH – BAWUMIA


Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the 2012 vice presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, has noted that it would be important for Ghana to learn significant lessons from neighboring Burkina Faso on transforming and boosting our agriculture, particularly in Northern Ghana, and pledged that the Nana Akufo-Addo administration would aggressively focus on agriculture in the North, with the ultimate aim of making Northern Ghana the bread basket for Ghana and the sub-region.

Dr. Bawumia made the comments while touring the Saboba constituency on Thursday. Speaking in Sambule, Dr. Bawumia said, “There is no reason why the North as a whole should not become the bread basket of west Africa as whole. Irrigation facilities, making sure that fertilizers are available, making sure that tractors are available and seeing to it that our roads are in very good shape would be critical in realizing this vision and a Nana Akufo-Addo administration is committed to implementing policies that would transform agriculture holistically.” Read more…
