More NDC delay tactics exposed … 9 separate joinder applications filed at Supreme Court – The New Statesman Online

The New Statesman is reliably informed that the ruling National Democratic Congress, in light of the overwhelming evidence showing the rigging of the 2012 election for John Mahama, has filed 9 separate joinder applications at the Supreme Court to be joined in the case challenging the validity of the December 2012 elections.

The ruling National Democratic Congress administration, the New Statesman can confirm has tasked its constituency executives across the country to get its supporters, through the use of cash inducements, to agree to have their names and signatures placed on joinder applications to be sent to the Supreme Court.

The filing of the 9 applications for joinders was done yesterday at the Registry of the Supreme Court and has been described as being part of the grand scheme by the NDC to delay the case being heard at the Supreme Court. Read more…

Kenya exposes Ghana … over bloated biometric voter register – The New Statesman Online

Figures from the Kenyan Electoral Commission have badly exposed the biometric voter register used by Ghana, which was compiled by the Electoral Commission, for the 2012 general elections as bogus, bloated and not credible.

From a population of 43,013,341 people, 14,337,399 Kenyan voters, representing 33% of the population, yesterday went to the polls to elect a new leader. This is opposed to Ghana’s case where out of a population of some 24.6 million, 14,031,681, representing 57% of Ghana’s population, were registered voters.

The comparison and vast difference between Ghana and Kenya’s voter register has been described by analysts as evidence of the fact that Ghana’s voter list, which employed the use of biometric technology, was deliberately bloated. Read more…

3 September 2012 – It’s a TAKEOVER!

Earlier today, the Victory 2012 campaign took the Hope Tour to the Klottey Korle Constituency in Accra. The aim of this tour as repeated in the last few months is to restore hope to the people of Ghana. Nana Akufo-Addo’s position is that if we believe in ourselves and in Ghana, we can transform Ghana into a first world country. The message from the constituents in the Klottey Korle Constituency was simple: “We will vote for Nana for free education so that our children can go to school.” Oh they poured out in their numbers to meet the man who wished to change and move Ghana forward again.

Nana Addo in his speech to the people stated “I have been travelling around the country for the past two years and one thing that worries me is the high level of unemployment amongst our youth. We will expand the Ghanaian economy to help create more sustainable jobs for the youth and people of our country”. Find out more on how Nana Addo took over Accra.

Meanwhile, his running mate, the brilliant Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia commenced his tour in the Brong Ahafo Region, where he reiterated Nana Addo’s commitment to education. He stated at a community durbar: “we have pledged wholeheartedly to ensure that we make Secondary education free for all. Our determination to fulfill this promise is influenced by the fact that when SHS becomes free, it would ensure that access to education would be no longer determined by how wealthy one’s parents are.” Read more about what Bawumia said.

LET’S STOP AFARI DJAN AND THE ELECTORAL COMMISSION

In January 2001 we concluded, for the very first time in our history, the handing over of National Office from one political party to another through the ballot box. And we did it peacefully, to the admiration of the whole world.

In 2008, in a most fiercely contested election from which the victor emerged by some 40,000 votes out of more than 9million counted, in spite of more than 200,000 spoilt ballots, we again achieved this feat, without an insistence on a recount . This time, to such fulsome acclaim that the newly elected part African President of the United States of America, Barack Obama made our nation his first visit to his home continent.

In 2012, we suffered the challenge of the sudden death of our sitting President. Once again, Ghanaian democratic credentials and commitment to peace were eloquently displayed in the manner in which we handled the transition to a new President and the selection of a new Vice President. Read more…

AKUFO-ADDO: “PRESIDENT MILLS HAS FAILED GHANAIANS”

The 2012 Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo, has described the performance of President Mills as “weak”, leading to the widespread hardships that the Ghanaian people are facing under his watch.

The NPP leader was addressing scores of people in Shama on Thursday, when he took his ‘hope restoration’ tour to the Western Region.

“President Mills has turned his back on the people, failing to fulfill all the promises he made to them” Nana Addo said.

Nana Akufo-Addo said instead of focusing on improving the welfare of the people, President Mills and his NDC government have been busy enriching themselves.

He questioned how President Mills can continue to say he cares for the people when he has lost touch with their concerns. Read more…
